Warm this Winter

You can help us keep our older and vulnerable neighbours warm, fed, and well when the cold weather hits.

Through our Warm this Winter Fund Appeal, we’re preparing all year round so we’re ready to respond to urgent need as soon as temperatures drop. Every donation goes directly into the Warm This Winter Fund, from which we provide vital grants to local charities and community groups who are working tirelessly to protect the most vulnerable in our communities. These remarkable organisations:

  • Help older residents and those on low incomes to heat their homes

  • Provide warm clothing, blankets, and bedding

  • Prepare and deliver nutritious hot meals

  • Offer advice and emergency support for those in crisis

  • Host warm and safe community spaces

Your donation today will become part of the safety net for a Northamptonshire resident who might otherwise face winter alone, cold and hungry.

  • £10 could buy a hot meal and a warm drink for a pensioner living alone

  • £25 could help heat a home for a day

  • £50 could provide a warm winter coat and bedding

  • £100 could contribute to an emergency heating grant for a struggling family

Case studies

Age UK Northamptonshire were awarded a grant of £5,000 from the Warm this Winter Fund. The team used this funding to fit 100 smoke detectors in the homes of older residents and ran electric blanket testing and replacement sessions for 40 residents, to prevent the dangers caused by old and faulty electric blankets and to ensure their beneficiaries would be safe and warm all winter.

BAK UP CIC were awarded a grant of £3,000 from the Warm this Winter Fund to run their community spaces project, which provides around 150 beneficiaries with a safe and warm space to come together each week, to enjoy refreshments, games, arts and crafts.
