Unsung heroes across the county to be celebrated as Rose of Northamptonshire Awards open for nominations

Nominations for the Rose of Northamptonshire Awards 2026 are now open.

The Rose of Northamptonshire awards honour individuals who go above and beyond for their neighbours and whose dedication strengthens communities across the county. As Northamptonshire Community Foundation celebrates its 25th anniversary, this year’s awards will be particularly special, with just 50 winners recognised - 25 from West Northamptonshire and 25 from North Northamptonshire. The awards are delivered in partnership with West Northamptonshire Council, North Northamptonshire Council, and Wicksteed Park, which will host the awards ceremony in June during Volunteer’s Week.

Local residents can submit their nomination before the deadline on Thursday 9th April 2026, by completing a short form on the Northamptonshire Community Foundation website here.

Rachel McGrath, Chief Executive of Northamptonshire Community Foundation, said: “This year marks 25 years of the Foundation supporting local communities, and the Rose of Northamptonshire Awards provide an opportunity to recognise those unsung heroes who make a difference in their communities.

“Since the awards were re-launched in 2023, hundreds of volunteers have been celebrated. In 2026, the focus on 50 winners ensures that those who go above and beyond for their neighbours are honoured for their extraordinary commitment
.”

Last year’s awards recognised a diverse and inspiring group of individuals from youth mentors and environmental campaigners to foodbank helpers and community champions many of whom have been supported indirectly through the Foundation’s community grant-making. Recipients included Freddie Harris, who set up the Wellie Wombles with his wife, Georgina, to help the community clear up litter across Wellingborough, and Lauren Pruden, in recognition of her outstanding volunteer services to Off the Streets, where she is instrumental in the distribution of bleed control kits across Northamptonshire, and the education of communities about the dangers of knife crime.

If you know an individual or organisation in Northamptonshire who deserves recognition for their good work and support of their local community, nominate them for a Rose of Northamptonshire Award before Thursday 9th April 2026.
