Nancy Stewart

Nancy lives near Brackley, where she and her family run a foaling and retirement livery service and arable farm. She is also a Director of Stewart Energy Insulation Ltd, which manufactures industrial equipment for energy conservation to customers in the UK and worldwide.  

Trained as an architectural historian and conservator; she has taught in UK and US universities, and practiced primarily in the UK for many years.  Nancy has always volunteered, focusing on protecting historic buildings and their collections, and on access to education.  She is a former trustee of local and national charities including Northamptonshire’s Sulgrave Manor, and supports numerous local families to advocate for their children. 

As Honorary Commander of US Air Force’s 422nd Wing, with bases at Croughton, Fairford and Welford, she addressed housing needs and base school closure.  Nancy focuses on rural exclusion, homelessness and hidden poverty in her work with local organisations.
