Yelvertainment has been awarded £1,364.16 from Northamptonshire Community Foundation through the Constance Travis Endowment Fund
Yelvertainment aims to raise the social and community wellbeing of Yelvertoft and the surrounding area through music and entertainment. The group provides a programme of events and activities, giving opportunities for members of the local community to take part.
Funding from the Foundation will help Yelvertainment to provide equipment to a number of community groups in the area, enabling them to both carry out existing activities more effectively and to extend the range of activities they offer.
Alan Saunders, Chairman of Yelvertainment, said: “Yelvertainment is proud to accept its grant award through the Constance Travis Endowment Fund. Thanks to Northamptonshire Community Foundation for its assistance in obtaining it. The grant will benefit the community and:
Ensure the survival of the Yoga classes which have grown to be a popular activity targeted at villagers and, in particular, older people.
Improve the catering quality of the Hub in the Pub get-togethers and Yelvertainment events for all villagers thus helping their continuing success.
Improve the quality of the revived annual Wassail celebration which is designed to promote the environment and conservations work of Yelvertoft Pocket Park."
