The Good Loaf has been awarded £9,560 from Northamptonshire Community Foundation through the Tampon Tax Community Fund
The Good Loaf operates three community cafés in Northamptonshire, serving a selection of artisan breads, homemade cakes, pastries, sandwiches and soups using locally sourced ingredients, with everything being made fresh daily.
The organisation provides volunteering and employment opportunities to vulnerable women, many of whom are either offenders, survivors of domestic abuse, single parents or long-term unemployed to name a few. They aim to be a social business, enabling employees and volunteers to break the cycle of poverty, unemployment and offending.
Funding from the Foundation will enable the Good Loaf to employ a part time peer support worker.
