Save the Planet has been awarded £5,000 from Northamptonshire Community Foundation through the Kingswood and Hazel Leys Fund.
Save the Planet works with a number of schools and community centre in Corby, delivering projects to the local community that provide meaningful and inspiring Arts based activities and foster an appreciation of the natural world.
Funding from the Foundation will support an environmental project in the Kingswood Nature Reserve, involving students from three primary schools in the area.
Paula Boulton, of Save the Planet, said: “The funding will allow children in the three primary schools on Kingswood and Hazel Leys estates to visit the beautiful Kingswood Nature Reserve and to look at how they can take steps to preserve the local environment. Think global – act local. Each school will initiate their own Save the Planet measures and share their plans in events at the end of the project. We hope this will improve our local environment for all.”
