Moulton Parish Council COVID-19 Volunteer Support Group has received £3,000 from Northamptonshire Community Foundation through the Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund.
The Moulton Parish Council Covid-19 Volunteer Support Group was established in March to support vulnerable residents throughout the current public health crisis, with over 100 households in the area being assisted.
The group, working in partnership with Moulton Surgery and Moulton Community Centre, helps the local community with shopping, dog walking, prescription collection and a telephone wellbeing service, and plan to further support residents over the winter months through food hampers and guidance on using technology to stay connected.
Jane Austin, of the support group, said: “This Christmas, our volunteers will donate and distribute hampers and presents to isolated households who will be spending Christmas alone, as well as vulnerable families. We will work together with Homestart and Moulton Surgery, as well as local postmen who will help with deliveries.”
