Adrenaline Alley has been awarded £3,982 from Northamptonshire Community Foundation through the Margaret Giffen Community Fund.
Adrenaline Alley is Europe’s largest Urban Sports Venue which hosts sports such as BMX, Skateboarding, Scootering and Skating. The charity provides facilities and services including, education and qualifications, employment and volunteering opportunities, disability access, community and school group sessions and training and coaching sessions.
The funding will support Adrenaline Alley’s Virtual Adrenaline project providing a unique Virtual Reality experience prioritising disadvantaged, special needs and disabled visitors to engage with the thrills of skateboarding, BMX and scooters.
Mandy Young MBE, DL, Chief Executive of Adrenaline Alley said “Funding secured through the Margaret Giffen Community Fund will enable us to buy disabled equipment, cover some project costs and publicity to complement funds received from Innovate Northamptonshire. The project will develop a Virtual Reality experience of Adrenaline Alley that will give more opportunities for those who cannot use the park to truly experience what it is like to ride a skatepark in a safe environment that is fit for purpose. This will be a fun, exciting and unique experience targeted at disabled people but will also be accessible to everyone.”
