Payroll Giving

If your employer runs a Payroll Giving Scheme, sometimes known as Give As You Earn (GAYE) you can donate to Northamptonshire Community Foundation from your salary before tax is deducted, so you get tax relief straight away. For example, if you are a higher rate taxpayer and you give £100 per month it only costs you £60.

Why not find out from your payroll department if your employer is one of the many offering a Payroll Giving Scheme. If they don't, why not suggest that they set one up?

Give As You Earn (GAYE), is a simple, efficient and easy way to give to Northamptonshire Community Foundation directly from your weekly or monthly pay packet. See the example below:

As an employer, you can offer employees the opportunity to make their charitable donations through the company's payroll without creating an administrative nightmare. And by selecting the Northamptonshire Community Foundation as your chosen charity you will be able to standardise the paperwork whilst allowing staff the flexibility to choose which organisation they wish to support.

If staff would like to change the organisation benefiting from their donation this can be achieved by simply informing the Foundation of the new beneficiary and the date of the change.

If you are a small or medium sized company with fewer than 500 staff you can apply for a grant to set up a payroll giving scheme. Contact the Inland Revenue on 0845 3020203 for an information pack.

As an individual, simply decide how much you would like to give to Northamptonshire Community Foundation and this amount will be deducted from your gross pay, i.e. before tax is calculated under PAYE.

Northamptonshire Community Foundation will receive the full value of your donation.
