Donor support is an essential part of the work we do at the Foundation offering a range of tailor-made services to help companies channel their charitable giving in to the local community in a tax efficient and effective way.
About Us
Northamptonshire Community Foundation is dedicated to improving quality of life and helping to build stronger communities across the county by building an endowment fund to benefit the people of Northamptonshire in perpetuity. The Foundation also distributes funds across the county on behalf of local, regional and national government agencies, through a variety of grant-making programmes.
Donor Services
Northamptonshire Community Foundation offers tailor-made support to match your wants and needs, whether it is administering the fund, liaising with the media on your behalf, or getting you maximum publicity via the press, our website and newsletters. The important factor is that you can be as little or as much involved as you want. It is completely up to you.
While many companies have a budget for charitable donations, few have the time, resources or expertise to deal with the many appeals that they receive.
We can:
- Assist you with your corporate social responsibility function by offering advice and ideas on developing a coherent policy for your corporate giving
- Deal with the day-to-day hassle of receiving charity requests

If you’d like to direct your charitable giving through the Foundation, there are many ways in which you can help improve the quality of life for local people and future generations to come………
Become a Friend of the Foundation – by committing to an annual donation that helps us to forward plan our grants programme and build the endowment for future grant giving is an effective way for corporate and individual donors to contribute to the Northamptonshire Community Foundation.
Support a Fund – Funds at the Foundation welcome additional support including the High Sheriff Initiative Fund Arts and Music Fund. You can opt to have your donation earmarked for a fund that closely matches your interests in the community.
Set up a Named Fund – A named or a themed fund allows you to contribute to the local community, supporting the causes that you most care about. Your fund bears your name (individual or corporate) and is invested by the Foundation to provide an annual income to award in grants. Geographical funds would also fall into the named fund category.
Consider leaving a legacy – The Foundation offers a simple, practical way for people to leave money to the local community in which they may have lived, worked and enjoyed for many years. Leaving a legacy named fund means that inheritance tax is not payable upon gifts to charities.
Commit to payroll giving – Payroll giving enables employees to give through their pre-tax salary each month. It’s a simple, effective and easy way of giving – and a valuable way of helping individuals to be in touch with their community.
Hold a fundraising event or a charity day – why not help us raise essential funds for the Foundation? We work closely with individuals and companies wishing to hold fundraising events. We’re happy to help in anyway we can including generating media interest and publicity.
Gift shares, land or property – Donating gifts of shares, land or property can be one of the most effective ways to give money to the Foundation. Free from capital gains tax, individuals or companies wishing to donate in this way will also benefit from income or corporation tax relief for the full value of the shares, land or property.
Provide in-kind support or one-off donations - We have a variety of sponsorship opportunities each year – including our Annual Awards, sponsoring of drinks, catering, venues for networking events and our Annual Review and other literature. We also welcome any suggestions and support you may be able to offer.
