Stamp out poverty fundraising walk
On the 8 September Interdirect & Northamptonshire Community Foundation will be leading a fundraising trek across Northamptonshire, to raise awareness and funds for the increasingly pertinent issue of poverty in our county.
Poverty is a growing concern in Northamptonshire, our recent Hidden Needs Report has highlighted that 21,730 children are currently living in poverty. Northamptonshire also has areas that are in the top 1 percent most deprived nationally for education and skills, income and employment, health, crime and housing.
Details: The walk will start at 10am at the Brampton Halt in Chapel Brampton. Walkers will venture across the Brampton Valley Way and then around Pitsford Reservoir, before returning to the Brampton Halt where participants will be welcomed with a hog roast, which has kindly been provided by McManus Pub Company. We estimate everyone will complete the walk by 3pm at the latest.
Money raised from our fundraising walk will offer much-needed help to those in need. There is a registration cost of £30 for each walker (administrated by NCF) with all proceeds going directly to groups tackling poverty in Northamptonshire.
Participants are also encouraged to fundraise, however, this is not mandatory. You can download a sponsorship form here.
Prizes will be given on the day, these include:
Top fundraiser – The team or individual that raises the most money
Top walker - The fastest individual
Best social walker – The person that raises the most awareness of the walk on social media (remember to use the hashtag #stampoutpoverty in your posts and tag us @northantscf)
Best team player – An individual who was supportive and showed a great team effort during the walk
