YWCA require a Part time Female Project Worker

To develop and run the personal development group for young women aged 16 – 20 at the Connaughty Centre, Corby and to work alongside the Area Manager to develop YWCA’s work in Corby.

                 Salary: YWCA Scale 4.1 £11.40 per hour

HOURS:12 hours per week, to be worked over 1 or 2 days to include a Tuesday.There may be occasional evening and weekend work.

                HOLIDAYS: 6 working weeks per annum, plus Bank Holidays on a

                proportionate basis.

Platform 2 – Global Volunteering Scheme for Young People

 

Platform 2 is run by Christian Aid, Islamic Relief and Bunac and have secured funding from DifD to sent young people overseas for 10 weeks to help on various projects, almost fully funded and is a huge opportunity for those that are not likely to be able to afford a gap year themselves.

Countywide Faiths Development Worker

 

Northampton Faiths Forum is seeking a suitable person for the post of Countywide Faiths Development Worker. The appointed person will help realise the Faiths Forum aims

  • to improve co-ordination of inter-faith activities in Northamptonshire.
  • to establish a county inter-faith network.
  • to identify key outcomes for the faith communities which build sustainable relationships and structures that will continue beyond the life of the project.

 

This appointment is to cover a period of 8 months, 3 days a week commencing 1st September 2008.  The worker will be community-based, but will be provided with office resources in County Hall, Northampton.

 

Total remuneration of £8,000 will be paid in monthly instalments, subject to meeting agreed outcomes.

 

The Countywide Faiths Worker will have

  • knowledge and understanding of faith communities,
  • good communication and interpersonal skills,
  • the ability to communicate with a wide range of agencies and individuals using appropriate methods,
  • excellent organisational, research and report writing skills.

Social Enterprise Workshops

 

We are running a series of short workshops for anyone who is interested in setting up a social enterprise or who is an existing organisation that wants to increase trading.  This is part of an East Midlands wide programme.  A flier and booking form for the first 2 workshops is attached.  I would be very grateful if you could circulate this to anyone that you think may be interested.  For your information the full list of dates (all mornings) and venues planned in Northamptonshire at present is as follows:

A Business Link grant for organisations wanting in depth specialist support (in addition to our usual support service) will be available in Northamptonshire from 1st July.  All participants on the workshops will be made aware of the grant and how to apply.

New Communities Forum

 

The New Communites Forum has been created to support people that are

new to the country, either as refugees, asylum seekers or migrants. The Forum encourages participation from these groups so please pass this

information to those that may be interested.

 

The forum also welcomes service providers that work with people

who are new to the UK.
