Thanks a Million NCF
Northamptonshire Community Foundation is celebrating in the lead up to the festive season, awarding over £1million across 2019 on behalf of its generous donors to local good causes and community groups.
Victoria Miles DL, CEO of the foundation, said: “We are so thrilled to reach the £1million milestone by the end of 2019. A huge thank you to all of our fund holders who helped contribute to tackling some of the most urgent causes and needs here in our county, supporting small charities doing fantastic work for our communities.”
Northamptonshire Community Foundation has funded hundreds of projects across Northamptonshire this year including youth activities, counselling services, food banks, support for vulnerable older people, arts and sports clubs, music festivals, healthy eating projects, safer community initiatives, community transport schemes, lifelong learning activities and welfare advocacy.
Recently funded projects include Live at Home Northampton, who were awarded £5,000 to run lunch clubs over the winter period for isolated, vulnerable older people; EVE, who received £3,000 to provide a wellbeing programme for survivors of domestic abuse and Shudan CIC who were awarded £4,900 to provide a sports leadership academy for children and young people living on the Hemmingwell Estate in Wellingborough.
Northamptonshire Community Foundation has, since its inception in 2002, awarded over £13million to local good causes and community projects across Northamptoshire.
