NFDS and NCF Joint Statement

“The Paralympic Games in Tokyo are once again showing what amazing feats disabled people are capable of and most importantly focussing on what they can do as opposed to what they can’t do.

All of these athletes wouldn’t be where they are today without having had the opportunity to access physical activity opportunities in the first place, most importantly enjoy them and then develop their skills through dedicated training.

Many disabled people are still denied this positive introduction to physical activity because providers don’t have the necessary skills, training, experience, equipment and facilities to include them.

The Northamptonshire Federation of Disability Fund has been established to help groups in the county address these issues and provide opportunities that are inclusive of disabled people.

If you are a group who could use this funding to become more inclusive of disabled people please email Alex Rex on alex@ncf.uk.com for more information.

If you’d like to donate money to help sustain the fund and ensure more opportunities can be created in the future as a legacy from the Tokyo Paralympics please contact Head of Philanthropy Mary Hollands on mary@ncf.uk.com.”
