Welcome to the foundation page on resources for groups; this is part of our commitment to ensuring your organisation is geared up for carrying out funded acivities through grants awards and encouraging good practice.

If you are a new group, or applying to the Foundation for the first time, please use the following documents for information and advice on the work we do and guidance for preparing the documents that will be required for you to be eligible:

Example constitution and guide

All groups applying to the Foundation must be independently and locally constituted. If you do not have a constitution please review this guide, feel free to contact us if you need further advice or guidance. The brief points to remember are:

• Even if you are part of a national network or a branch of a national organisation we will require you to be an independently locally constituted group

• Your constitution must have a dissolution clause that states in the case of your group winding up or dissolving a commitment to allocating any remaining funds to a group with similar aims and objectives based in Northamptonshire

• If you are in doubt please refer to the guide above, and use it to design a new constitution to be adopted by your management committee

• The constitution must be signed by 2 management committee members

Child protection policy

If your project involves working with children, you must have an up to date child protection policy adopted by your management committee. If you do not have one please view this example as a guide to creating your own.

Vulnerable persons policy

If your project involves working with vulnerable adults, you must have an up to date vulnerable persons policy adopted by your management committee. If you do not have one please view this example as a guide to creating your own.

Guidelines for paying volunteer expenses

If your project involves reimbursing volunteers for expenses, please review this guide to good practice. If you provide volunteers with money incorrectly, you could be end up liable for large amounts of money at a later date.
