It was the first year in the lifetime of the Foundation that in the financial year April 2014 to March 2015, over £1 million has been awarded to 280 local community groups, charities and individuals within our county.

Victoria Miles, Chief Executive said: “As the leading independent grant-making charity in the area we are proud to have been able to deliver this level of support to community groups, charities and individuals during the past year. It is thanks to the outstanding generosity of our donors and partners that we have been able to achieve this.

The Foundation is dedicated to delivering this vital support which improves the lives of our county’s most disadvantaged people and communities. Child poverty, unemployment, homelessness, domestic violence and social isolation are just some of the issues we strive to tackle each year and the growth of our endowment to over £7.5 million will help us achieve this both now and for generations to come".

The Health Eating Project received a grant to run 40 healthy eating workshops at Hinton Community Centre, Kingsthorpe. These workshops provide learning opportunities that engage people in activities that promote their health and well-being, help to revise their diets to embrace a healthier approach to food, develop their cooking skills and to shop on a budget.
