Since 20015 Oundle Cinema has provided an opportunity for those living far away from regular cinemas to meet and enjoy film on the big screen. It has shown some 250 films in the Stahl Theatre plus a further 500 films in village halls around the region.
Going out locally is an important part of people's lives especially in advancing age and when people live alone. The cinema foyer offers refreshments and has a friendly atmosphere offering social interaction before the film show.
In August 2015 the group were awarded £3,000 to purchase a new projector. A better quality projector will allow more local people to attend the club as the viewing distance and angles will be enhanced. The Cinema’s main venue seats 250 and regularly attracts a large audience from the local community.
