Northamptonshire Champions Fund reaches 100th champion

The 100th award was made to Taylor Hinds who is a women's footballer. She has been selected for the England Training international camp for the second time.

 

The Northamptonshire Champions Fund is a bursary scheme designed to support Northamptonshire's emerging sports stars. The county's top sporting performers receive financial support to help them make the most of their talent. Nearly £40,000 has been awarded since 2008 to locally talented youngsters.

 

 

Amongst other recent bursary awardees, sporting talent has been supported across a broad range of sports including swimming, tenpin bowling, athletics, inline hockey and badminton.

 

Hollie Taylor a local champion kickboxer and Northamptonshire Champions awardee said: 'This money will help me be involved in the World of Kickboxing Championships which take place in Portugal in October 2014 as I couldn't take place last year due to no funding'.
