New Chair for Northamptonshire Community Foundation

Paul Southworth OBE has been appointed Chair of Northamptonshire Community Foundation, and at the Foundation’s recent Annual General Meeting, trustees and staff welcomed Paul and said a fond farewell to out-going Chair, David Laing, Lord Lieutenant of Northamptonshire. 

 

Paul Southworth OBE said “It is a great honour to be asked to take over as Chair of the Northamptonshire Community Foundation. Over the past few years the Foundation has continued to grow and prosper under the guidance of David Laing as Chair, Victoria Miles as Chief Executive and her great support team.

 

It is true to say that David will be a very hard act to follow, but I am truly excited about the future and continuing the excellent work being done by the Foundation in enhancing hundreds of lives throughout the community of Northamptonshire.Thanks to the generosity of our donors and commitment of the Foundation team, we intend to continue our growth and level of giving ensuring our support to those in need adds value and purpose to their future."

 

Paul Southworth OBE moved to Northamptonshire in 1971 and immersed himself into the Northamptonshire business community. Over a number of years he helped to create and Chair Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited, which eventually became Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership one of the Government's recognised LEPs.

 

Victoria Miles, Chief Executive said: We are delighted to welcome Paul Southworth as the new Chair of the Foundation, Paul brings with him a wealth of knowledge about the county and I am looking forward to working alongside him to assist the board and the staff  in the future growth of the Foundation to help support our thriving communities. “
