Grant of the Month

The Good Loaf CIC is an active artisan bakery that works with female ex-offenders. The volunteers are taught by a master baker and include people who may be long term unemployed, older people, young people, single parents and anyone needing voluntary work to increase their chances of paid employment, reduce isolation or gain new life skills. Being involved with the project gives the volunteers a sense of purpose and value.

The bread and baked goods produced are sold via an onsite café to the public and wholesale to local businesses. The project was awarded £4,422 from the NCC SEED Fund to support their purchase of a van to be used for deliveries.
