Peter Walsh, Club Secretary said “We are pleased to support this appeal and Northamptonshire Community Foundation. Being involved in a sport such as golf, we realise the positive impact that exercise has for overall health and wellbeing as well as the social and psychological aspects of being part of a club such as ours.

“We have seen the impact this appeal has had to help lessen social isolation and provide vital support to some of the most vulnerable and elderly people within our county and will continue our support to this appeal at our annual Charity Pro-am Golf Tournament taking place on Monday 13 July. This is one of the major events in our 2015 calendar and full details including entry forms are available on the club website.

Naomi Butters, Fund Development Manager said: “We are delighted that Northamptonshire County Golf Club has chosen to support our Surviving Winter campaign throughout 2015”. All the money raised is distributed to community groups and individuals and £9,560 was distributed during
2014 /2015”.

“Support continues throughout the year with activities such as volunteer energy advisors providing advice services to maximize income and reduce the risk of fuel poverty, home visits and general maintenance, providing social networks of support and befriending through local community activity and facilitating volunteer transport and outreach visits”.
