FUND SUMMARIES

 

Please note: Sporting Champions is now closed due to the fund being fully allocated. The fund will not re-open on April 1st as there is no new allocation due.

General Grants, The Compton Fund for Arts, Culture & Heritage, Queen's Institute Fund and First for Wellbeing Fund will re-open on April 1st following receipt of funds for financial year 17/18. All funds have been allocated and nothing will be awarded from these programmes in March.

Comic Relief will be open in September 2017 when a limited amount of funds will be distributed during this round. Comic Relief will be open for the September 2017 panel only.

 

General Grants Programme

Our General Grants Programme is for project activity between £250 and £3,000 (we define these as small grants) identified under one of our grant programme themes. The grants panel meets on a monthly basis and decisions are relayed to groups within 10 days of a panel meeting. This panel can support any project that is for community benefit.

 

Northampton Borough Council grants

An NBC Grant is for project activity between £250 and £3,000 identified under one of our grant programme themes and fund work that takes place in Northampton specifically and only. The NBC grants panel meets on a bi-monthly basis and decisions are relayed to groups within 10 days of a panel meeting. The panel's final deadlines are during March and May 2017.

 

Northamptonshire 100 grants

A N100 grant is for project activity between £250 and £3,000 and this year invites general applications, meaning any type of project or activity is eligible to apply for funds. The N100 panel meets twice a year and decisions are relayed to groups within 10 days of a panel meeting. You can hold a Northamptonshire 100 award in addition to a current live grant.


Comic Relief

Comic Relief awards are made between £1,000 and £10,000 for projects that respond to one of the five areas identified by Comic Relief. The programme will not open until September 2017 and the limited funds will be fully allocated during this round. Applications will be prioritised and may be declined due to limited funds.

 

The Yelvertoft Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

The Yelvertoft Windfarm Community Benefit Fund has been established on behalf of AES Wind Generation to provide grants of up to £3,000 to projects which benefit residents in the parishes of Clay Coton, Crick, Lilbourne or Yelvertoft. The fund will support a range of charitable, educational, environmental and general community amenity projects to benefit residents in the local community around the wind farm site.

 

Surviving Winter grants

A Surviving Winter Grant is awarded for work to support elderly people suffering from Fuel Poverty in winter. Awards are between £250 - £5,000 and are made from August to allow lead in time for the winter months.

 

KHL Big Local Community Chest Fund

The KHL Big Local – Community Chest Fund will offer grants of £250 to £5000 for projects that are all about improving the wellbeing of residents based in Kingswood and Hazel Leys in Corby. The fund covers both groups based in these areas and work in these areas as long as the project primarily benefits residents of Corby's Kingswood and Hazel Leys wards.

 

Burton Wold Community Wind Farm Fund

 The Burton Wold Community Wind Farm Fund has been established on behalf of Laing Construction to provide grants to projects which benefit residents in the parishes of Burton Latimer and Cranford. Awards are up to £5000.

 

Avon Female Empowerment Fund
The Avon Female Empowerment Fund is managed by Northamptonshire Community Foundation on behalf of Avon Cosmetics Ltd. The Fund's key priority is to support projects across Northamptonshire to improve the quality of life for women and girls.

The Avon Female Empowerment Fund will make quarterly awards between £250 and £3,000.

 

New Albion Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

The New Albion Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund has been established on behalf of New Albion Wind Limited to provide grants to projects which benefit residents in the parishes of Rushton and Pipewell. Awards are made at a local panel of up to £10,000.

 

First for Wellbeing Target Fund

The First for Wellbeing Target Fund has been established specifically and exclusively to benefit the Northampton wards of Castle and Spencer and the Wellingborough ward of Swanspool. Projects outside these areas or within them that do not have or cannot guarantee a majority of beneficiaries from the wards in question will be found ineligible. Projects are also required to have a strong community development approach and show how the work will last beyond the year of funding as well as lasting benefits from community development. If you are unsure if your project meets these eligibility requirements please contact the Grants Team. Awards are made of up to £20,000.

Please note: You can apply to this fund in addition to any one current live grant except First for Wellbeing.

 

Youth Social Action Fund

The Youth Social Action Fund will offer grants between £1,000 and £5,000 for projects and activities raising the level and quality of youth social action in an area. Activities must be for young people between the age of 10 and 20 and up to 25 years for disabled young people. Social action involves activities such as campaigning, fundraising and volunteering and helping young people develop the skills and knowledge of young people that employers looks for.

Please note: The final closing dates for this fund are Friday 7th April and Friday 5th May. Please urgently complete your application for the deadline to ensure you can potentiall access these funds to support youth social action.
You can apply to this programme in addition to any one current live grant. Please ensure you read the guidelines to check the work is eligible.

 

Compton Fund for Arts, Culture and Heritage

The Compton Fund for Arts, Culture and Heritage wish to support a broad range of high quality arts, culture and heritage activity across Northamptonshire. The fund will offer awards between £500 and £5,000.

 

The Northampton Queen's Institute Relief Fund

The Queens Institute Fund will offer one-off grants of £500 to £5,000 for projects based in Northampton that are all about improving health and wellbeing especially those living with an illness or health condition.

 

First for Wellbeing Fund
The First for Wellbeing Fund will offer grants from £500 up to £10,000 to develop ongoing project activity or initiate new project activity supporting people's health and wellbeing across Northamptonshire. The definition of wellbeing is broad so a wide range of wellbeing projects are eligible to apply.
